Coding agents are very magical and are letting me move about five times as fast as I used to, even as a very experienced programmer, but the aesthetics of working with them all day are absolutely awful. As many people have observed, after an eight-hour day focused on coding agents, I'm left frazzled, fried, and vaguely dissatisfied. Yes, I'm moving faster than I did before, but the experience is much less pleasant, and I don't feel any pleasure of mastery.
I suspect that a lot of people are dealing with this. I have some ideas, some of which have helped a little, and I'd like to swap notes!
