I've been told I need to "looksmax" or "get more drip" to maximize my effectiveness as a canvasser for the Alex Bores campaign or as a Stanford AI Alignment club leader. Because of my deep passion for AI safety (ok fine other reasons too... currently my aesthetic is kind of boring...), I wish to improve my appearance.
So I'm crowdsourcing it at Manifest! Anyone is free to come, but an ideal attendee will have
I'll go over my fashion goals for the first 15ish minutes of the event. You'll be able to ask questions. I'll spend the rest of the time taking suggestions for things I should buy or do!
This is kind of a selfish event, but if you would like fashion consulting, you can also come in the hopes that the fashion consulting-interested people around will also give you useful advice.
Some more background about me: I've struggled with figuring out a good personal aesthetic for years. I've spent a lot of effort on my hair in the last year (growing it out, then cutting it) and I'm satisfied with where it is now. I think I primarily want to devote this session to acquiring better clothes — primarily pants, shirts, and the elusive perfect maxi dress.
One issue is that I have an aversion to spending time or money on this project; I would spend a few hundred dollars and a few hours but not more. Also I'm sometimes a tough customer. I have a felt sense of what I do and don't want, it's just hard for me to internally access. Here's a WIP document with more info you can read if you want, but I'll go over it during the session: https://tinyurl.com/jacobmeyercohenstyleguide
There's a chance I'll move this event to an alternate time.
