Why I'm optimistic about education

I think Bryan Caplan is wrong about education: while I agree that virtually every attempt to improve K–12 education has (indeed) failed miserably, I think it’s entirely rational to suppose it can be made wonderful — and in our lifetimes.

This is, of course, not the consensus opinion in the community!

I’ll make the case that several long-standing obstacles may finally be weakening, and that genuinely excellent schools could become far more common than most people imagine.

Education is one of humanity’s most important inventions. If there's a path forward, it's worth finding.
