Expanding on the sessions from LessOnline and Manifest 2025, picked up for the EAG circuit, a new version presented by Joe Rogero of the MIRI Comms team.
This workshop provides guidance for policy writing that is grounded in specifics and a compatible theory of change. Most policy work in DC is too abstract, answering the wrong question, for an audience of no one in particular. Being specific improves the work, whether by referencing fleshed-out policy proposals, giving examples of what changes policy should induce, or working backwards from well-calibrated predictions. Understanding the sociology of the policy community helps address the right question.
